Earlier in the year, the Historical Investigations Unit closed down, with many of it’s works being distributed between the remaining Special Investigations Unit and the Paranormal Investigations Unit, however, we can now provide an update that the HIU is set to make a comeback in 2026 with a new purpose.
The unit, which focused on Archaeology, Historical places and events, Historical races and individuals and Research, however it has now been confirmed that it will now focus on new areas, which include exploration, archaeology and scientific studies.
In a statement, the board stated that this would be a more fitting way to utilise this particular unit to its full potential, whilst delivering results from a scientific aspect. The unit, which closed back in the summer is set to return in January 2026 with a brand new team behind it. It will mark yet another milestone that the bureau can offer, whilst diving into the worlds history, and making those all important discoveries.
