Recently, we had received a message on one of our social media accounts which was quite forward in promoting illegal activity. We quickly reported it to the platform and to the relevant authoritie and the matter is now being dealt with.
We are asking everyone who uses social media frequently to be vigilant. If you see something that doesn’t look right, please report it right away. Social media platforms should remain a safe place for everyone and we will always be here to assist if you feel something is not right and don’t know how to deal with the situation.
Here are some tips to help you and others to remain safe on social media.
- If you receive any message that are untoward or suspect it may be linked to illegal activity, report to social media platform and involved authorities if needed.
- You always have the option to report and block directly.
- Seek assistance from a friend or family member if you are unsure.
- Stay vigilant at all times. Social media may be great for making new connections, but a high percentage of accounts are fake and you never know who you maybe talking to.
