For decades, there were rumours across the UK of big black cat sightings, and now there seems to be a rise in sightings. It was initially thought that it may have just bee one, however, reports suggest that there may in fact be a whole lot more.
If we step back in time however, it was rumoured that during the 1950’s, a circus was shut down resulting in the release of 3 pumas, however, this was never confirmed and so it became almost a folklore. Over the years however, sightings have increased, resulting in photographic evidence, however, it has still not been proven to be legit.
Hair samples were found some decades ago but the results were never formally made public rendering the samples inconclusive. No one knows for sure where these beasts may live, but the question is could they really survive in the UK? The answer to that is yes as there is a healthy food source and water which would be enough to sustain life.
Individuals and groups over the years have tried and failed to try and prove their existence within the lands, even going as far as tracking these elusive creatures.
A special expedition however, is being planned and a team from IBPIR will attempt to visit the most recent areas of sightings to try and gather any samples and other evidence. It is not clear when this investigation will begin but we know it is being planned for 2025. We will however keep you updated with any future dates.
