As the UK is currently gripped with the second major heatwave of the year, all UK agents have been ordered to stand down from physical investigations amid safety fears.
With the second heatwave underway, the extreme heat is making it difficult conduct any form of physical investigations, prompting the health and safety policy to come in. In this kind of heat, which the UK has never really been used to but is becoming a more common feature within the country, it is essential to stay away from the heat at peak times and stay hydrated.
In a short statement from the board, “We as a collective have a duty of care to all of our agents, and we would certainly not allow any form of physical investigations in this kind of heat.”
This come after the first heatwave claimed one of its agents to heat exhaustion, prompting a review of just how hot is too hot. The UK has seen temps reach well into its 30’s, which is considered a danger to life. There has already been a red weather alert for most of the country.
Investigations are set to resume once the temps have lowered.
