In a massive overhaul, it was made official today that all cold cases that were previously closed and concluded are now set to re-open.
The move made by the Special Investigations Unit, said that this complete U-turn is necessary and that no cold case should ever be closed. Previously, some cold cases were concluded due to lack of new information, but in a new leap forward, all cold cases that did face conclusion are now being reversed as it was deemed unfair to the families and friends who desperately seek answers.
The SIU are also placing specialised agents within this area, to look over all cases from new perspectives to try and offer better theories in the hopes that new information can be gained.
The SIU have also confirmed that a new Senior Agent will be taking charge of the unit, but as of yet, no name has been released as to who that may be, but it is expected to be announced within the next few weeks.
