Over the past few days there has been an huge uproar concerning social media creators who have profited from the tragic death of a toddler.
When 3 year Noah was reported missing, the social community came together in a bid to spread the awareness, however, it seemed that some creators turned the situation into a profit making scheme, but it got worse from there. When news broke that the young toddler had been found under tragic circumstances, these creators continued to profit, however it came with an added darker side.
The creators, BossCali, BrettBoyy, Gemzeeno and Kevin Wright continued to profit, but with that came the horrendous abuse towards the tragedy. The Anti-Scam Unit highlighted the issues to which it spread far and wide to highlight what these creators were doing, and with that it began to reach bigger creators who also helped to cover the awareness.
It is estimated that the awareness has now reached millions in an effort to clean up social media from the scammers, and the efforts are now producing results.
The creators involved in profiting and vile comments have seen their views and funds take a huge drop, meaning that the important awareness is working. The ASU have worked tirelessly to disrupt and prevent scammers from profiting from vulnerable people.
In a statement, “This has been a joint effort from both the team and the social community coming together to highlight the importance of scams and how the awareness is now preventing these scammers from conducting their activities.”
The ASU will continue to raise the importance of awareness.
